Furever Friday: SeabassCat

Not too long ago one of my human twitter pals met a handsome fella.  He was so handsome, in fact, that she decided that she had to have him all to herself.  That's her story, at least...  There is another side to that tale though, and as luck would have it, my pal Sebastian (aka SeabassCat) has agreed to share it with us.

=^..^=

Do you remember any about your life before finding you forever home?

My life before coming here is a little fuzzy, but I remember a little bit. I lived with a family that had other cats. I wasn't comfortable with all the other cats in the house because it meant that I didn't get much attention. I'm quite the lovable kitty and need to be able to give and receive lots of affection. Guess you could say I'm a lover, not a fighter!

After that, I lived at a local shelter, Wayside Waifs. I had a little room all to myself with a door I could look through and watch the activities of the cat adoption area. I met great people there. The volunteers were wonderful and very attentive toward me. They made me feel quite comfortable while I waited for my forever home.
How did you find your forever home?

Mom is a volunteer at Wayside Waifs and one night came into my room. She sat on the floor and let me cuddle in her lap. I knew then that if I worked it just right, she would take me home. I looked at her with my best sad eyes and cuddled closer. She sat with me for a really long time. I loved her instantly! After a while, she told me she had to go home and she got up and left. I thought I had read her wrong and that maybe she wasn't meant to be my forever home. My lucky day actually came two days later when she came back and told me I was going home with her! She told me she loved me and I wouldn't have to worry any more. That night, after her volunteer shift, we went home together. It has been bliss ever since!

What’s your favorite thing about your adoptive family?

There are so many things I love about my new family. I have a sisfur, Dottie, who is a guinea pig. We're pretty good friends now. She's the one who introduced me to Twitter and encouraged me to start my blog. There's also a fish, Jimmy Dugan, that I watch sometimes, but he doesn't mind. Then there's Mom. I think she's my favorite part, because she lets me sleep with her at night. Even after I've sat on her lap and cuddled with her all day long, she lets me cuddle with her more all night too! It's great! I couldn't have asked for a better forever home!
I hope telling my story helps other kitties at shelters find their forever homes too.
=^..^=
Well there you go... It's no wonder dat his new Mom fell in love with him. He's such a kind and gentle soul.  Thank you, Sebastian for sharing your furever home story with everyone!  You are a great pal, and role model for me.

Thanks for stopping by!

Furever Friday: PollyPuss11

It's Friday already. Can you believe it?  My mom likes Fridays because it means the weekend is almost here. I, on the other paw, love Fridays because I get to help furiends share their furever home stories.

Do you remember any about your life before finding you forever home?

I was found pregnant and hungry in the back streets of Belfast, Christchurch. I met Winston...and followed him home, he had 6 brothers and sisters. His Mom fed me, and gave me a warm place to have my kittens. She found every single one of them, all eight, a wonderful forever home.

How did you find your forever home (or how did it find you?)

My new Mom spoke of me at her work, and a co-worker who lost her beautiful black cat several months before, name Purla, wanted to come an meet me. She fell for me at first sight. I smooched her, so she brought what was to be my "Forever Dad" to meet me too. He thought I was beautiful and wanted to take me home......so a week after I got "fixed up" *blushing* I got delivered to my new Forever family. I made friends with Max strait away, he gave me a nosetap as soon as I walked in the door.

What’s your favourite thing about your adoptive family?

I know I should say Mom & Dad....but to be honest....its the dogs! We have an amazing bond and friendship. We all have a lot of fun together, I even sleep in the Garage with them. All the humans think its quite unusual for a cat & three dogs to get along so well.

After reading Polly's story, I can only come to one conclusion: I have incredibly good taste in girl kitties. Of course, it doesn't hurt that she's a good smoocher too. hehe

Thanks Polly, for sharing your story with us today. It sounds like you found the purrfect furever home!

And... to the rest of you, thanks for stopping by!

Do you remember any about your life before finding you forever home?

I remember my mommy, snuggling and sleeping, and my brother and lots of other kitties at that house too.

How did you find your forever home (or how did it find you?)

It was September, 2005 and I was 10 days old when I was picked out to go to my furrever home. Momma cat and Daddy cat were very sad because the kitties that lived with them for 17 years went to Rainbow Bridge. They were looking for the purrfect kitty. When they found me, Daddy cat said “only 1 kitty” but Momma cat wanted my brother too, so me and Mazi both were chosen that day. We were so happy to see Momma cat & Daddy cat come to visit us, and then when we were 12 weeks old, we got to go home to our furrever home. We wasted no time in claiming every inch of the house as ours. We are purry happy.

What’s your favorite thing about your adoptive family?

I love how my family loves kitties so much that we are completely spoiled. We pretty much run the house.

We have trained Momma cat & Daddy cat to cater to our every need. Momma cat is the feeder & scooper, and she is great for cuddling too. Daddy cat is great for playing with. He plays with us every day when he comes home from work. Some days we chase the feather toy, some days its chasing little balls around the house, and today we chased the laser spot! That little red spot is fast!

But wait, there is more to their story...
Simba and Mazi
Mazi and I were the only 2 cats for almost 2 years, then Momma cat brought home Simba. His previous home had a little baby and his family said he was too playful so they couldn’t keep him.

Simba is just a few months younger than us. I was NOT happy to have another cat in the house and I keep telling him that, daily. Simba and Mazi are best buddies and they love to wrestle and play.

Mazi and Bitsy

Six months ago, a poor sick kitty (Bitsy) showed up on our doorstep. Momma cat nursed her back to health. She is a little tuxedo cat and the vet says she is purry old – 14 to 17 years! She sleeps a lot and doesn’t play, and the rest of us kitties just leave her alone.

There is lots of activity in this house with 4 kitties and 2 peoples. We love our family!
=^..^=
Wow... Sounds like a they are some very busy kitties! Nothing wrong with that though, in fact, they sound like kitties after my own heart. hehe  Thank you Kalie, Mazi, Simba and Bitsy for sharing your wonderful story with us today! Furiends.... If you don't already know this team, I recommend that you over to twitter and introduce yourselves today! Just go here, to say hello.

Thanks for stopping by!
