Santa Paws; The Rest Of The Story...

I did it, I did it... I scored an interview with Ms. Dorian from Your Daily Cute. If you don't know Dorian, you should read dis and learn about dis wonderful animal lover. If you do know her, you should read so you can learnz da full scope of her kindness!

Wow, I can't believe I get to interview Pimp and Moo's Mommy! (Pimp is my BFF...) Thanks sooo much for doing this Dorian!

Let me start off wif some simple questions. Now I know dat you help a lot of kitties in your neighborhood, which is super fantastic, but when exactly did you first realize you were a cat magnet?

Whew! Glad you're starting easy… I was nervous! I think I've always known I was a cat magnet, but I really, really started noticing it about 5 years ago. I kind of call myself "Mother Nature" because animals just seem to know their safe around me, and even the ones that are not friendly around other people are almost immediately comfortable around me. It's crazy, but I love that they know I'm good people.

Wasn't your website, Your Daily Cute created (in part) to help you fund the aide of some feral kitties that lived near your employer?

It was! Really it was two reasons I started it. A bunch of us at work were always passing around cute videos and I thought it would be fun to have a kind of library of them all in one place. Then, I realized that other people wanted to see it, too, and YourDailyCute.com was born!

I searched around for how I could raise a little money with it to help with all the money I spend of the parking lot kitties I feed (I try not to add it up, but it's over $200 a month!), and found some great ways. It doesn't make too much, but every little bit helps (if you click on the Google ads, that helps support me… hint, hint…).

Do you have a favorite story of one of your rescue kitties?

Aw, I have TONS of stories! I love them like they're my own, and they really are. There is a girl (Little Meow) and a boy (Daddy Meow). Little Meow wasn't spayed and she got pregnant like three times before I could catch her – she did not want to be caught. For every litter she had, I searched high and low for her babies to try and help them, and I saved and found a home for at least one each time!

The last time she had babies she had five of the most precious things you've ever seen, and I was able to catch her and all of the babies!! I found the whole family a temporary foster home while she made sure they grew up big and strong, and then the kitties got forever homes and Little Meow got spayed and was reunited with Daddy Meow!

Here is some more about The Meows (and baby pictures of the kitties!)

Ok, now for one of da important questions...

Are Pimp and Moo as pawesome as dey seem?

They are even more pawesome than they seem! Pictures and stories don't do their pawesomeness justice! Pimp is the best, sweetest cat you'll ever meet. (Do you know how he got his name? I got him while I was in college and there were 4 girls living in our apartment… so clearly he was a Pimp!)

And Moo is the biggest love. I call him my cuddlebug. He has to always be by me, giving me kisses and rubbing all over my face. He also loves to take pictures. Whenever he sees the camera, he literally runs right for it! (I think he tries to rub on it, too!)

Besides having a wonderful website, and super furkids, you have something else pretty awesome going on right now; Santa Paws Drive. Can you tell me a little of da history of your project?

Yes! I am so excited about Santa Paws Drive! A while ago, I had an idea to try and do kind of a "Toys for Tots" – but for animals in shelters. I had no idea how, though… and I needed help! So I asked @BabyPatches and her momma and @frugaldougal and his if they'd like to be a part of it and help out. They all said yes!

We picked 6 rescue shelters all around the world to help out, and we're collecting toys, treats and money donations to help bring a little holiday cheer to our furry friends who aren't lucky enough to have forever homes for the holidays. It's really easy, you can donate and learn more at http://www.SantaPawsDrive.com and there's no shipping charges or anything on all the Santa Paws stuff!

Concatulations on getting such a dream team to work on this with you too! I mean to get to work wif da lovely BabyPatches and da top dog of da #pawpawty events, FrugalDougal.... Wow! Just wow!

Aww… thanks. I'm so happy we could get it all together. We want it to be HUGE and help LOTS of kitties and doggies!

To help raise awareness for Santa Paws Drive, you've had a couple contests and PowerHour Pawpawtys too, yes? I know at da last Power Hour I even won sumting. OMC... I was so shocked, when dat happened! I tink I fainted 4 or 5 times dat night! Thank goodness BabyPatches was der to revive me! hehe

Yes, yes… and I seem to recall that maybe some of those "faints" might have been a little staged in order to get some extra attention from BabyPatches… Just sayin. ;) (Whatever works, buddy. You're a man-cat now after all!)

We have lots of great pwizes we're giving away to keep people excited and thank everyone for all their support with Santa Paws Drive. We have been giving away FURminator deshedding tools and we have a couple other really big, exciting pwizes coming up, too, including a HUGE raffle!

Do you have anyting else you would like to share about Santa Paws Drive?

I think that about covers it. Our goal is to raise at least $3,600 in money and toys for the shelters, so every dollar helps! Oh, everyone should follow @SantaPawsDrive to get all the latest and so they don't miss out on any of the fun.

Thanks for the interview, Henry! I'm honored to make it on Cats Who Twitter!

Thanks soooooooo much for doing dis! *kitty hug*
Well there you have it folks. Proof dat humans can be pawesome too! hehe Please, please, please, stop by Santa Paws Drive so you can learn more about dis great project.

Thank you for stopping by!

When Good Cats Go Great...

A couple days ago I was lucky enough to sit down and visit wif one one my favorite anipals, Baby Patches. During our visit she shared wif me a little about her life as a Chief Kat in a very important business! Here is a bit of dat conversation...

Hi Baby, thanks for doing this interview. Let me start by saying you look absolutely beautiful today. *blush*

From what I understand you've been the Chief Kit, over at SuppliesJust4Pets.com for over a year now, is dat correct?

Yes, dat is correct. You looks mighty handsome yourself today. Thanks for having me for an interview.

That sounds like a very important title, can you tells me what you exactly it is you do?

Chief Kit is a very important title and role to has, der is no one higher den me but momma. I do product testing, inspect shipments dat arrives, and oversees da shippings of da orders. I also snoopervise my sisfur and brofur when we need additional product testers. There are a few other fings I do such as modeling for momma as well. MOL

Have you had a favorite product so far?

Yes...well I has a lot of favorites! MOL But if I had to picks just one den I would say my Turbo Track. Da Turbo Track has a ball in it dat rolls around but it won't comes out, unless you takes da track apart likes me hehehe

How did you and your mom become involved in Santa Paws Drive?

Momma and I became involved wif Santa Paws Drive when we were contacted about da idea from YourDailyCute.com's creator. We couldn't pass up an idea dat could helps several animal shelters and provides toys for homeless animals for the holidays.

Now, I notice on your site, dat you can donate toys or monies, is der anyfing in particular you would recommend be donated?

So far we has been doing purrty well but we need some more dog toys to sends out so I would recommends da Naughty & Nice Tug and the Bungee Reindeer. Remember no shipping charges are applied during checkout.

Do you have any advice for animal lovers out der who maybe can't afford a financial gift dis year?

For those dat can't donate dis year, see if you can take a trip to your local animal shelter close to the holidays and give da animals some play time if you can. Just a way to show these animals dat people care about dem. Maybe even volunteer an hour or two to helps out.

Is der anyfing else you would like to share wif our readers today?

Yes, I would, thank you. Please feel free to ask me for suggestions or let me know if you are lookings for somefing we don't has. Der might be a good chance we can find what you are looking for. We strive to be der for our customers...our furriends!

Baby, I just has to tell you, between all your work for Santa Paws Drive and your generosity at da Pawpawty events, I am one smitten kitten. hehe You are a great kitty and I am tickled to be able to calls you my friend! *kitty hug* Thanks for taking da time to visit wif me today!

OMC... Isn't Baby wonderful? She is such a busy girl too. Not only does she help out wif da store and da charity, she is also a regular on twitter and she has a blog... I almost forgot to mention dat her store just got a brand new look too. You should sooo stop by and take a peek. DO IT! hehe

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you know dat I am going to start taking better care of dis site and get it updated. What does that mean for you, you ask? Well... I am so glad you asked, because I has big plans for US.

First off, I know der are a bunch of new kitties on twitter dat need to be added to da lists. I'm guessing around 200 more, though the number might be higher still. Anywho, I would like to ask your help in making sure dat you and your pals are listed. But that, my friends, is just da beginning.

If you've had a chance to look around da site at all, you know dat Oscar and I have had a lot of cool posts featuring some of da great cats we've met along da way. Things like Follow 5 Friday, Queen and Mancat of da Week, as well as some great interviews. Well, I've decided I want to do some similar posts again.

Before I get too far ahead of myself though, I would like some input from all of you kitties. So, if you would be so kind, please leave a comment answering the following questions:

  1. I would like to be added to da list. (Make sure you leave your twitter name)
  2. I would be interested in being featured on dis site. (y/n)

Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Paws!

Hello friends. I know I hasn’t done much on here lately, and I do hope that changes soon, but I wanted to share something really special wif you today.

How many of you lived in a shelter or rescue before finding your forever homes? I lived at in a shelter for about 3 weeks before I adopted my mom and moved into my forever home. And, while I didn’t mind da Shelter (there were lots of other kitties to play wif), I did have to learn to do wifout a couple things. Things like toys, Temptations, and catnip never made their way into my furry little paws.

That’s why I was so excited to learn that some of my awesome twitter pals put together a project that will add a little cheer to the lives of rescue pets dis Holiday season. After all, who doesn’t like to be a little spoiled over the holidays?

This project, of course, is the SANTA PAWS DRIVE!

This project was the brainchild of my good buddy Dorian from YourDailyCute.com, who teamed up wif Salina (SuppliesJust4Pets.com), and Lynn (who is one of the masterful organizers of the monthly #Pawpawty’s on Twitter (FrugalDougal’s Mom.)) Talk about some dangerous minds… Just meowin’ hehe

They put together an amazingly simple way for you to help shelter animals have a great holiday, just like you and me! The money raised will go to 6 shelters (in 4 different countries) that have already been chosen. OMC… I’z rambling! Why don’t you hit da link below and let them tell you their story.

Donating is easy; you can donate monies or toys. It’s all good, and it will all give a little happiness to our critter friends who are still waiting to find there forever homes.

Thanks for stopping by,

Henry (aka Quadpawd)

Psssst… I just wanted to remind you dat you can help you local shelter over the holidays too. Contact your local shelter and see if they have a wish list or volunteer some time and give a little TLC to some deserving furred friends.

Man-Cat of the Week

Hi everyone. Remember me? It’s Henry. I knowz I’ve been away for a while, but it’s been for a good cause. I has been trying to help my Mommy find a better job. Anywho… I’ve been hearing from several of my friends that they want me to bring back da Man-Cat and Queen of da Week. So I has called upon a good buddy/ role model of mine to help me get tis going again.

Ladies and Gents, I would like to introduce you to this week’s Man-Cat of the Week, Misha…

Age - 5

What does being a mancat mean to you?

I'm more of what you would call a modern mancat. It's a fine balance between being sensitive and loving but also knowing how to strut my sexy self. It's hard being adored by everyone, but it's a burden I proudly bear.

I love the limelight and sharing my gorgeousness with the world in my blog, The World According to Misha, so I'm very excited about being a finalist in New Zealand's Next Top Cat Model. Goes to show that top models aren't just girls! You can vote for me
here.

How does it affect your role in the family?

I'm definitely #1 in the household. If anyone comes over, they always coo "Where's Misha?" as soon as they walk in the door and I run to give them the full Misha welcome while my sister Cosmo hides under the bed like a pussy.

I monopolise Mummy's attention (and her lap), because I have to make up for Cosmo not being very affectionate.

=^..^=

Wowza, now that’s what I call a Man-Cat. Misha is all about da self-esteem. No wonder he is such a pawesome role model for me and for all the up and coming Man-Cats in training.

Thank you, Misha for taking the time to answer my questions. And, of course, thank you to the rest of you for stopping by!

Hi everyonez! I sorry I hasn't been posting much lately, but I have been busy keeping mom in check. But I saw dis cute photo and just hadz to share it with you. Doesn't it just make you want to go out and get a new little brudder or sister? Or, at least, hug the one you've got?

Wellz, have a great Caturday!

A Mommy Meme

Hi everyone! I was visiting Daisys Blog earlier today, and I was shocked to find that her Mommy had done a post about herself. The post, I guess, is what da humans call a Meme. I not no what dats all about, but I do know dat when my mom saw it she about ript the laptop out of my paws saying, "Let me do it! Please, Henry?"
My mom is not one to say please very often, so how could I refuse her? Oh, but I didz give her one condition; I getz to tell you about her.

The rules go like dis:
(1) post 7 facts about yourself AND photos,

OR
(2) post 10 facts about yourself with no photos,
OR
(3) post a childhood picture of yourself.

After I expose her dark secrets to the world I'z gonna pick 5 other critters on twitter, who also blog. So don't go away!

~~=^..^=~~

When I first made mom show where to find the old photos, I stumbled upon this one and was surprised to learn that she used to be smaller than me. You would never guess that by looking at her now. I wish I knew her back then, those fingers look purrdy nommy. hehe

=^..^=

Mom was a world famous tap dancer. Okay, not really, but she did know how to put her foot down. Mom is the little girl on your far right.

=^..^=

My momz not afraid to shot. MOL My poor uncle Steve was no match for my mom and her six shooter! I am happy to report that he made a full recovery.

=^..^=

Here you can see that my mother turned nine once. Hehe Actually this picture tells a couple stories:
  • She always had a soft spot for cats. She said dat when she was little she had over 4oo cats in her room. Not real ones, but posters, figures, stuffed animals and such. Yikes!
  • Another thing I noticed is that goofy look on her face! I wonder if dats where I learned to make my funny faces?
*Disclaimer: Mom wanted me to point out dat it wasn't always about cats when she was a little girl, and that when when she was older she fell "in love" with a Rock Star, just like teenage girls are supposed too. MOL

=^..^=

Here she is at one of her favorite places. Mom loved living in South Dakota and says that 'someday' she is going to load us both up in her car, and move back. I can't wait!

=^..^=

The sixth photo is of my mother a few years ago. My mom loves the outdoors and used to walk 4 miles every day and go hiking almost every weekend.

=^..^=

My mom enjoys genealogy and would love to have a conversation with the gentleman shown below. He was her Great-Great Grandfather, Olaf Nord.

~~~=^..^=~~~
As you can tell, I wasn't able to to get too much dirt about my mom. I know it's out there though...
Okay, as I mentioned before, I was going to list a few critters I would like to see feature there moms/dads/humans/staff/'rents on their blogs. If your not on this list, but want to try it, feel free to do so as well.
I choose: BrewskieButt, LouPeb, BabyPatches, Loki, & the WineCountryDog. Of course, dey don't havez to do it, but I they are such pawesome anipals that I would luvs to learn more about there loyalist fans. (Oh, and you can tweak it a bit if you wantz. If you follow da chain back a few links, you see everybody has kind of made dis der own.)
Thanks for stopping by!
Man-Cat of the Week
Well, as you know, we have our Queen. But, I ask you, is the week complete without a Man-Cat of the Week? I say no! Therefore, after searching high and low, I have found HE who represents ALL Man-Cats. Who could fill such a role? Why, MrScrubby, of course!
Age
THREE
What does being a man-cat mean to you?
I learned that it takes mad skills to be a scrubilicious man-cat. You gotta have strong purrs, big jumps, and a loud flop on newspapers (or other piles of important work) when you want some rubbins. I also believe that being a man cat takes rhythm and good groove. I like to get down to Motown tunes, 70s punk, and 80s new wave. There's nothing better than watching birds out of the window while listening to Smokey Robinson, The Pretenders, or The Smiths. That's how I roll.
K-Scrub
How does it affect your roll in the family?
As the man-cat, I try to be humble but it's so hard. Everyone wants a piece of me. I have three sisters and a brother, and I can only be handsome and gregarious for so long without getting a little cranky.
When I need a break from my family, I climb into the basement rafters and take a snooze. Sometimes I sleep under the covers. I just need a break from the limelight. Here's a video where I was interviewed by a local journalist.
=^..^=
=^..^=
Whoa, soundz like I still have lotz to learn about being a Man-Cat. I hope I can gain his self confidence and modestly. MOL
Seriously though folkz, I think Scrubby is a cat that knowz where it’z at, and I find him to be a great role model and Man-Cat. I strongly encourage you to stop by his pawesome blog and learnz more about this fine feline!
Thanks Scrubby, I am soo happy you was able to share some of your story wif CWT today. You DA CAT!
And, as always, thank YOU for stopping by!
